i do not understand why the worker do not want a union, don't you want higher wages and benefits. In Germany the average auto worker starts at $35.00 , In Tenn. I would guess they make about $18.00

Because there aren't other decent paying jobs in Tennessee? (there are people who would kill to make $18 an hour)

Because they know the UAW has fewer dues paying, employed members than 10, 20, 30 and 40 years ago.

Because past UAW demands basically forced wages high enough that the US manufacturers lost price competitiveness?(granted, the US product was inferior to the Japanese for much of this time)

Because they look at what has happened in Detriot, and don't want that to happen in Tennessee?

Because they think they are being treated fairly?

Because they are being paid fairly?

Because they like having a job, and don't want their job outsourced in 5 years to China? Or India?

Quite honestly, I wish people who haven't studied economics and don't understand the impact of a global economy (it happens on its own, there is nothing you can do about it) would stop chiming in on subjects they really don't understand.
