It's Official! Mercedes-Benz To Build An S-Class Convertible

BUT, it's not what it sounds like.

Since Mercedes-Benz has decided that the two-door CL-Class will NOW be an "S," the headline technically reads correctly.

In reality, Mercedes will be using the two-door's chassis to produce a fabric-roofed cabriolet that is sure to compete with the likes of the Bentley Continental GT drop-top. If you had dreams about the S-Class "Ocean Drive" becoming a reality, you'll just have to wait longer.


...The convertible will be based on the S-class coupe concept previewed this month at the Frankfurt auto show. The coupe will go on sale in the Europe in early 2014 and the convertible is expected to arrive about a year later...
