Really not surprising that they are not seriously considering F1 at this time. Relevancy is always been the issue with F1. Audi’s whole philosophy has been based on returning lessons learned on the track to the street. With the current state of F1 technology you can only take a pretty abstract idea and make concept useful on the street. In Lemans the whole idea can pretty be tested and only slightly modified for mass consumption. A much more direct transference of technology occurs. F1 is changing, and by some stroke they decide to allow diesel technology, then and only then will the bait be too tempting for Audi to resist. But until then Audi will not be officially interested.

Audi will use what they have learned from the R10 to make the next generation TDI diesels very good.

logical

I know about F1, it is my favortite type of motorsport, but in reality the techonology there while it definately improves the breed is relatively useless on the road. BTW, BMW better pick up its F1 program they aren't doing to great.
