Failing To Grasp Fiscal Responsibility? Unions On Witch Hunt Over Detroit Bankruptcy

Gov. Rick Snyder began a three-hour deposition Wednesday morning at his Lansing office, answering questions under oath from union attorneys about why he authorized Detroit’s historic bankruptcy filing.

The deposition began at 8:30 a.m. in a second-floor conference room of the Romney building, the governor’s downtown Lansing office across the street from the state Capitol.

Attorneys representing the United Auto Workers, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees and city retirees are leading the inquiry of the decision-making that preceded Snyder’s July 18 authorization for Detroit to file the largest municipal bankruptcy in U.S. history.

The sooner the US auto industry crushes the UAW the better. The UAW gouges manufacturers for $$ and benefits, but in no way is held accountable for quality. Unions no longer support the workers. They are merely money laundering arms for the Democrats.

The UAW is bad enough.

However, Public Employee Unions are even worse. They have been bleeding the taxpayers dry for decades to fund their overly generous pension and benefit plans. They have caused an increasing number of municipalities to file for bankruptcy.

Taxpayers have struggled to fund their own retirement and health care. Many find it difficult to do so after subsidizing the Public Employee Union plans.

Wake up America. Public Employee Unions should not be allowed to exist, and choose non-union made products whenever possible.
