Mercedes-Benz MLC To Challenge BMW For Ugliest Coupe Style SUV
Mercedes-Benz will, in fact, be taking aim at the BMW X6 with its own sporty crossover, two high-level executives have told us, confirming longstanding rumors. As BMW did by spinning off the X6 from the X5, the as-yet-unnamed Mercedes will look like a squashed sleeker version of its traditionally proportioned counterpart, the M-class. Running gear should be virtually unchanged from the ML, with the new crossover offering a choice of six- and eight-cylinder gasoline engines in the U.S. and an AMG model at the top of the range. (Totally speculatively, the four-cylinder diesel in the upcoming ML250 BlueTec doesn’t seem like the right candidate for a $60,000 LOOKATME! vehicle.)

Almost as bad looking as BMW's 3-series.

I won't say the F30 is bad looking (as it looks so similar to the E90), more like boring looking = more of the same.

Uhoh, shots fired! but i honestly think this thing will look pretty good ibn person, only because it will be such a departure design wise from the standard safe look M class we have come to know

Looks just like a sedan version of the ML350.

Terrible, as expected from MB (only the CLS is good looking and properly wears MB's new design language IMO).

It's good for companies to have niche-market products that are low-volume sellers. As long as that product introduces new buyers to the brand or new technologies, and the yield is positive. The X6 isn't that bad looking when all is said and done.

The funny part about this market segment is that it won't appeal to the broader luxury-car buyer, I don't believe. When I lived in the suburbs, I never saw an X6 (or a ZDX) anywhere and forgot they existed. It wasn't until i moved to a different zip code where exotic cars are a dime a dozen, did I see a bunch of X6s and actually plenty of ZDXs (yes, I was shocked when I saw the first ZDX..haha).

I think it looks pretty good and far better than the X6
