2014 Toyota Tundra Early Sales Terrible – What is the Problem?
It has been a full month since the 2014 Toyota Tundra was set to hit dealers and the numbers aren’t good. Is the truck market cooling, bad marketing, lack of incentives or is the truck just not as competitive as Toyota thought? What’s your take?

Could it be that gas is expensive and it has the worst mileage? Or is it because Ford and Dodge sell their trucks with the bed filled with $1 bills? (almost $10k less out-the-door)
Probably a combination of the 2. But having the highest price in a market where all the competition is really quite good has gotta make the salesman's job hard.

Toyota has totally missed the boat. The new Tundra remains an extreme gas HOG, still has an underpowered engine, obsolete transmission, and old school dash board.
A new grille and an pompous attitude does not cut it. The Tundra is a loser.

All they have to do is look at it to find the problem.

@Skytop - I couldn't agree with you more. I own a 2007 Tacoma Pre-Runner I use when it's crappy out. They haven't changed hardly anything on that truck since 2005 when that current body style came out. Adding different tail-lights, headlights or a different color grill doesn't cut it. The engine/transmission on that truck is also "long on tooth". Most truck manufacturers have at least 5, maybe 6 or 7 speed trannies.
