SPIED: BEST Images Of BMW's 2-Series Coupe AND Convertible HERE!

SPIED: BEST Images Of BMW's 2-Series Coupe AND Convertible HERE!
Though it was just the other day we were able to bring you some fascinating news regarding the all-new BMW 2-Series — details broke from South Africa, of all places — we now have something else for you.

That would be an all-new set of spy images, folks.

There's a couple of reasons why THESE shots are the best though:

1) They are great quality AND they show the 2-Series coupe from a variety of angles not previously seen. From what I can tell it's overall shape and greenhouse doesn't differ from the 1-Series. But the new facade with the new interpretation of the kidney grilles and headlights give it a fresher look.

2) There's all-new shots of the 2-Series convertible.

Pretty open and shut case, if I do say so myself.

Im kind of disappointed. I feel like Mercedes is the only Greman Marque giving us bold designs to talk about, whether you like or hate it, at least they bring anticipation to the table.

I hope other marques follow suit...part of the CLA's success is the excitement it brought to the industry when launched. Is it perfect, of course not but as a fan of the automotive industry, bold moves like that are what helps keep the industry exciting

I don't know how bold it is to make all your cars look exactly the same just in different sizes (the side profile of the CLA, upcoming C-class, CLS, and upcoming S-class and all its variants all have that same scallop). Don't get me wrong, I happen to think the cars are good looking, but it's not exactly adventurous or bold to make the automotive equivalent of Russian nesting dolls. They're basically just copying what Audi did years ago.

@JrobUSC, You are commenting on the design language, however your russian nesting dolls still applies to Audi today.

Have you seen the A4 and A8...last i checked the E class, S class, and C class had little in common other than the grill

seriously? Look at the CLS from the side. Then look at the CLA from the side. Then look at the upcoming S-class (sedan and coupe) from the side. Then look at the upcoming C-class from the side. Notice the same scalloped side lines on all of them? The arching upper and lower lines that all of them share? Even the upcoming GLA has it. And you can bet the next E-class will too.

The Russian nesting dolls analogy I used absolutely does apply to Audi today, though they have said they're getting away from that going forward. Time will tell. But it's not up for debate whether Mercedes is going that direction. And again, I happen to think the cars are attractive (both Audi's and Benz's). It just isn't a bold move. But at least if they're going to make all their cars look the same they didn't pick an ugly design.

Really???? That is called design language..I can literally take the headlights from and A8 and A6 and interchange them and no one would know.

The side of the A6 A4 A8 are all the same

the CLA is supposed to be reminiscent of the CLS genius hence the name CLA LOL! WOOOOW

Uh huh. And the GLA and S-Class sedan, coupe, and convertible? Those are supposed to look like the CLS too because the names are... what were you saying exactly?

You're getting awfully defensive. I said I LIKE the looks of the Benz models. And yes, I get Audi does it too -- I acknowledged that in my first post. But it's juuuuuust a bit hypocritical for you to applaud Benz for making all their cars look the same while simultaneously chastising Audi for doing the same thing, especially when Audi was doing it first.
