CLA reviews: Can you make a real Mercedes-Benz for $30,000
By pricing its new entry-level CLA sedan under $30,000, excluding destination charges, Mercedes-Benz got a ton of attention. But is this front-wheel-drive compact really a Mercedes? Not every reviewer thinks so. Here's a sampling of the early notices.

Audi's 2015 A3 Sedan has been getting significantly better reviews. This is even more true of Audi's S3 sedan, which has had at least 5 very positive reviews from many different U.S. and European publications.

Mercedes-Benz better watch out because with the momentum the Audi brand has in the U.S. and more so globally, the A3 sedan could very well steal the CLA's thunder.

I'm looking forward to comparison tests where I predict the A3 sedan will be the easy winner over the Mercedes-Benz CLA.

Really...if you want to talk about momentum Mercedes sales globally increased 15% last month compared to Audi's 6%.

In the U.S. alone sales increased 25% for Benz, The A3 will sale great but i guarantee you it will eat up a huge chunk of the A4's market share because the A4 is not a huge seller in the U.S to begin with.

Audi better watch out and make sure they don't trip over their own feet

Mercedes also has significantly more models than Audi and it's global growth numbers include the new A , B, and CLA compact models. With Audi's lineup increasing to include the Q2, Q6, Q8 SUVs and the new A4, Audi will have a huge global sales increase over the next two years.

The A3 sedan target buyer is significantly different than the A4. The A3 sedan buyers are younger, have a smaller chance of being married and don't need the extra backseat space. Don't think because the A3 and A4 sedans look the same that the A3 will cannibalize sales of the A4 -it won't. The CLA is much more at risk than the A4.
