VIDEO: Porsche Macan Turbo Struts It's Performance Cred On The Track
A leaked spec sheet recently revealed the Macan Turbo will deliver 400 hp from its 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6, so it’s not overly surprising to hear Porsche say the chassis of its upcoming new model will have a sporty tune. And to prove the point ahead of the SUV’s unveiling at the LA Auto Show, Porsche has released this video of the Macan being tested at the R&D center in Weissach.

Along with the Turbo variant, Porsche will offer the Macan S with a 340-hp 3.0-liter V6 and an S Diesel with 258-hp and 428 lb-ft of torque.

Sorry, but F-YOU Porsche. I have owned 2 of your sportcars and in 15+ years all you've given the "affordable" models (Boxster/Caymen) is 5% power boosts every few years and a lightened model with a gimped top and red straps for door handles. You'd think that in all that time, just for the heck of it, you'd give us a limited edition turbo Cayman...if not a whole lot more.

Now you build a cute-ute you shouldn't even be building in the first place and drop in a 400hp turbo version before it even hits the streets? Even the 911 has to wait a couple years.

But don't listen to me, Porsche. You'll sell a ton of these so you can cancel out any sportscar under 100K - and frankly that seems to be the intent.

I'm on my second Porsche sportcar now, but this is the kind of crap that makes me NOT want to buy another. I understand that Porsche is looking out for their own growth, but at this rate they will just another Mercedes. Sure, it's great in terms of sales figures, but terrible in terms of the name "Porsche" being special in any way. There is no reason to introduce a turbo version of a brand new product so soon.
