CAR WARS! Ferrari's 458 Speciale vs. Porsche's 911 (991) GT3
Recently two storied automakers launched two lightweight products that we assume will make for some wild head-to-head comparisons. Though the writer of this piece didn't put them on the track, back-to-back, he has driven both and started to debate WHICH was better and WHY in this little diddy.

There's just one little problem. Autocar's Steve Sutcliffe hasn't actually spent enough time with either products. Nor has he done some scientific testing.

That said, he does take some time to reflect on both of these cars and how they compare head-to-head in the following categories:

- Quickest
- Handling
- Sound
- Braking
- Quality
- Styling

I'll give you just a taste of his initial impressions below, but if you want to read the FULL piece, click "Read Article" below.

...Now I can't help but ask a question - which, out of arguably the two most exciting driver's cars of the moment, is the better car...

...Conclusion: without putting them back to back on the same piece of road, and the same piece of track, it's absolutely impossible to declare one or t'other as being the better of the two. However, the fact that the Porsche costs £108k less than the Ferrari does seem fairly relevant given that the debate would be perfectly valid, even if they cost the same amount of money...

Article: "...Again it's subjective, but for me the GT3 is pretty much the most perfect looking sports car that there has ever been..."

Yup. It's subjective. To me, Ferrari is currently making some of the most stylistically awkward and clumsy looking coachwork available, and the Italia is the prime example. Six years ago, they made some of the most beautiful cars on the planet (to my perception).
