LA AUTO SHOW: Is Lincoln's MKC SUV America's Audi Q5? Does It Stand A CHANCE Against The Cadillac SRX?
Ever since Lincoln rolled out the MKC Concept, Agent 001 and I have observed it and essentially drawn one conclusion: This Lincoln is the American version of the widely successful Audi Q5.
From the proportions to the little design details, there is a lot of creative license taken from the four rings. That's not a bad thing and to be straightforward it's probably the best Lincoln design in the company's rather bland portfolio.
There's just one problem. There is a rival in form of the Cadillac SRX.
Given that vehicle's success and Lincoln's DIRE need of a product with legs — from a sales perspective — it looks like there
could
be a nice little CAR WAR coming up in the small luxury SUV class.

Went from a pretty attractive (dare I say sexy) concept to just another SUV. Looks like a marriage of the Santa Fe and Tucson. And the interior looks dated already, certainly not luxurious. SRX, Q5, RX, and RDX have nothing to worry about.

The side profile and wrap-around tailgate are blatant copies of the Q5.

The Audi Q5 has nothing to worry about. It's a much more premium product that is cross-shopped with the BMW X3 and Mercedes-Benz GLK, not Lincoln. The Q5 is also Audi's best-selling model in the U.S. with huge sales momentum.
