LA AUTO SHOW: GM Brings A GREEN Chevrolet Corvette For Its Centerpiece — Is GREEN A BAD Color For A 'Vette?

LA AUTO SHOW: GM Brings A GREEN Chevrolet Corvette For Its Centerpiece — Is GREEN A BAD Color For A 'Vette?
The Chevrolet Corvette is an American motoring icon. Everyone knows that. Just about every little boy — and girl — dreams of having their own at some point growing up.

Hell, even Prince wrote a song "Little Red Corvette" about the damn thing.

But that's just it. Note the color? Typically Corvettes come in an array of black, red, yellow, blue and sometimes silver. But one color that never seems to really gain traction is the dark emerald green that Chevrolet offers it in.

Just today I saw a C4 in an emerald green and it looked great.

Well, it's back for the C7 generation 'Vette and this is the first time I've got a look at it. I must say, it looks really classy with that peanut butter-colored interior. The color has a bit of pop to it.

What makes this particularly interesting is if you note the vehicle's placement. It's in the center. See how the Camaros and other Corvettes are seen surrounding it?

Interesting move, GM. Question is, though, does it work for YOU?

I would like one in red, but the green is attractive.

This green is brilliant.

There's A LOT of sports cars that look great in green but there aren't many takers.

- BMW E46 M3 in Boston Green
- Bentley Continental GT in British Racing Green
- Jaguar XKR --> actually a good amount of takers here ;)
- Aston Martin (anything)

I like green (a proper Hunter green, not some girly kelly green), but in the last year BMW, Audi, Mercedes and the like haven't offered anything of interest to me in that color.

A more sophisticated color for a more sophisticated buyer. Nice. Best US green car of all time is the 1970 Chevelle SS454 in Hunter Green with black stipes.

I have a 2014 Lime Rock green convertible like the one featured at the LA Auto Show. People often do double and triple takes and ask if thats a factory color or special order etc, It was only available for one year. I love it! O yeah, I did have a 70 SS 454 Hunter Green Chevelle but it had white stripes.
