BMW i8 Already Sold Out For 2014 - How Do The Europeans Keep Them Lining Up Every Time?
Love it or hate it, the BMW i8 is pretty popular. So popular in fact that it’s now officially sold out for model year 2014. Set to officially arrive in anxiously awaiting owners’ garages sometime in the middle of next year, BMW confirmed that its new plug-in hybrid sports car is no longer available for the time being.

This same official was unable to divulge how many units have been sold. Buyers lined up from throughout Europe, the US and the Far East. What’s for certain though is that i8 production is far from over.

I'd buy one too if I was looking for a hybrid. Tesla is bigger and more practical but not as sexy.

I like the KIA shifter that BMW obviously stole from the Koreans.

This is all about rich people pretending they care about the environment along with BMW's arrogance for not putting technology into the 3/5/7 to make them dramatically better in MPG. The ugly i8 and i3 are absolutely insignificant as is the Tesla.

What technology would you put in the 3/5/7 that the i3/i8 employ to dramatically increase the MPG?

I suspect it's got jack all to do with arrogance (though I guess arrogance is your speciality --- "The ugly i8 and i3 are absolutely insignificant as is the Tesla"!), and it's more to do with what is viable design-wise, what is economically feasible, and what they can roll out in a large enough scale manufacturing wise to implement in their core range.
