CONFIRMED: BMW Active Cruiser Coming To US
Tired of the seemingly never-ending stream of BMW models being launched at a somewhat dizzyingly fast pace? Well, too bad because there’s going to be yet another new Bimmer that’ll be making its way to the US in 2015.

The production version of the Active Tourer concept will be BMW’s first front-wheel-drive crossover, sharing a platform and engine lineup with the all-new Mini Cooper that just debuted last week at LA. It will compete against the Mercedes GLA-Class.

great. too bad they can no longer build a decent 5-Series and the 3-Series is slipping

@freeagent agreed. Like Mercedes, their obsession for an endless array of niche vehicles is maddening. I cannot help but think they would me much better served with a shrply focused 2002tii (instead of a 1 or 2 series), a 3 and a 5 Series that are not Camryfied. People here are sneering at the new Genesis, but the current Genesis is pretty darned good and the current 5 Series pretty lackluster and not a compelling drive. The Active Cruiser faces the GTI and if the darty, torque-steer prone Mini is any indication, the VW and Focus as well with have this thing for lunch.

It'll still sell heaps if they offer reasonable handling and power.

Nice looking and intrigued but they lost me at front wheel drive.
