BMW i3 Fails To Excel In Euro NCAP Crash Tests
The BMW i3 has missed out on getting top marks in the Euro NCAP safety tests.

The new BMW city car achieved four stars on its test, with Euro NCAP commenting that in severe side impacts protection of the chest for adult occupants was "weak", and that the front seats and head restraints provided only marginal protection against whiplash in a rear-end collision.

What the hell have boot lid hinges got to do with Euro NCAP reports? Which, by the way, only appeared to judge the i3 poorly for Safety Assist features, not so much the actual crash/pedestrian sagety of the vehicle?

The crash test was actually fine, in fact better than other cars. It was the lack of rear safety belt warnings and the mandatory in EU speed limiter feature that lowered the total score.
