I had a 1970 Buick GS455 Stage 1. Looked pretty much like a Skylark, but it was a monster. It was rated at 365HP, but trust me, but that 455ci V8 was seriously under-rated. I loved driving something that would blow the doors off of almost anything on the road, but didn't look it. Got about 11MPG regardless how I drove it, but since gas was only about 40 cents a gallon, it wasn't a problem on my K-Mart salary :)

When I had it, it was only a few years old, and I was maybe 20. Believe me, Buick used to be able to sell to the younger crowd. Maybe they can get their mojo back.

In my early 20's, I had a 1972 Buick Riviera with the same engine. I know what you mean, surprised a number of Vette, Camaro and Firebird drivers.
