VIDEO: Is The Porsche 918 BETTER Than A Bugatti Veyron?
A £650,000 supercar can so often feel too scary and edgy to drive at ten tenths. Not the Porsche 918 Spyder though. Most people could get most of what this car can do out if it. And some people will get closer to the edge than ever before. The McLaren P1 and LaFerrari will need to be very special indeed, freaks even, to deliver a wider range of abilities than this.

For me it's a "so what?" question. Both are equally pointless flights of fancy designed for the handful of people who can afford them. Designing a hyper car that only a double-digit number of people can afford is hardly an accomplishment, BUT had the hybrid technology been targeted to a Boxster/Cayman replacement, THEN Porsche would have accomplished something of purpose. A 50mpg Boxster would be a much more difficult challenge and much more indicative of Porsche's engineering prowess. To my eye, both are grotesque looking. And NO, I do not buy the trickle down excuse.

Let's see, the Bugatti has been around since 2005. Basically, the same car with slight modifications to make it faster. VW has shared with PORSCHE some of this technology. So YES, it probably is a better car,

I'd give my left testicle for that Porsche. Oh wait, that only gets me a 370Z.
