Is It Tasteless To Proceed With The Fast & Furious Franchise After Death Defying Driving Takes Paul Walker's Life?
Drag racing may have been involved in the fiery crash that killed Fast and Furious actor Paul Walker on Saturday, an investigator said Monday.

Investigators got a phone call tip Sunday suggesting that another car was at the scene when the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, driven by Walker's racing team partner, slammed into a light pole and burst into flames, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Richard Cohen told CNN.

"Naturally, from an investigative standpoint, we need to find out if that is one of the issues," he said.

Even if drag racing was not involved, investigators are looking at the possibility that another car veered in front of the Porsche and caused the crash, Cohen said.

The cornerstone of the whole franchise has been death defying driving. Anyway you look at it, speed on someones part played a factor. It is sad an ironic that a star passes away to the same actions that occur in the movies he made.

Now comes the moral dilemma.

Due to the publicity the movie will be a box office smash. But are you going to alter the message sent to viewers? Money over morality?

Is it responsible or tasteful to continue to portray this type of message?

Yes I realize the movie is an action fantasy, but somehow it now hits home.

009, The driving part of FF left a long time ago. The movies have nothing to do with driving other than a cameo appearance by an exotic car. You must have only saw the first 2 movies. Because from FF 3 onward , the ff franchise have been about cars in the same way that "Bad Grandpa" is about Grandfathers.

Since when is dollar obsessed Hollywood ever tasteful or morally correct?

They only give pretty speeches and give each other phoney awards to feed their egos. Nothing more.

Wait, death-defying driving taking a life (lives)???!?

He died, they both did...

How does that defy death????

One of the most stupid things I've ever read. Well done AutoSpies..

I guess you are not really good at reading English.

The article is talking about the death-defying driving scenes that happen in the movie.

Meaning, the article is saying that it is possible that the FF's death-defying driving scenes somehow got him like Karma.

All of us are replaceable so I say move on. If Superman and Bond can be played by multiple actors then a B-movie actor can be replaced.

Hollywood and the luxury European brands have something in common:

Money, not morality

Aristocratic, not populistic

But still, Paul Walker was pretty different and seems like he was pretty a selfless man. R.I.P.

Anyway, it is never a good idea to expect a lot from those European cars. They are supposed to be taken care of religiously, otherwise they fall apart like made in China cars.

^Disagree.
Having personally owned JDM, Euro, American and Korean cars let me tell you that American cars are the worst, Japanese are definitely the most reliable but the Europeans are best overall with interiors, safety, ride, handling, etc etc

Please tell me one car that even comes close to the new S-Class overall as the best car in the world, or even close to the A8, 7 Series or the new Panamera Executive...

I'll take the superior reliability of the Lexus any day of the week over the poor reliability of the permium German brands.

I'd rather push a German car, than drive around the snooze fests known as Lexus. You Lexus fans are the worst fans ever. Reliability? Every car is freaking reliable. What about something other than reliability? What else can your bland mobiles do?

And I’m willing to bet the farm that you are an American. Only an American can be stupid enough (brainwashed by advertisements) to put Lexus over Mercedes Benz.

@LexSucks

And unfortunately, you European lots are way too brainwashed to believe that your own products are somehow "superior" and "reliable", and that kind of propaganda has reached Hollywood and the American aristocrats.

If your crappy products are actually "reliable", you would see more people driving used VW, BMW, Mercedes everywhere in the world.

Unfortunately, the people in the world much prefer the Japanese cars, especially Toyota.

I really feel sorry for you, my friend. I hope one day you come to see the truth.

If you've ever owned a Porsche you know how reliable they are. The 911 is usually in top 3 most reliable cars. Year after year they top JD Powers most reliable cars.

BMW, Audi might be another story... the 911 is amazing.
