RENDERED SPECULATION: If BMW's Next-Gen 7-Series LOOKS Like THIS, Would YOU Approve?
This past weekend we ran spy photos of the all-new BMW 7-Series that's undergoing development. From what we've been told it's a bit of a way's away. Don't expect it until the 2016 model year, which would mean a 2015 launch.

Recently found was this rendering of what the all-new, upcoming 7-Series could look like. As of now there's no clear indication of what lies beneath given all the swirly camouflage and cladding. A couple of details that we were able to see, however, was the new exhaust tips and the hood seam that meets the front kidney grilles and headlights.

No awkward shut lines, for the win!

This rendering clearly depicts an evolutionary take on the next-gen 7'er. Given the greenhouse of the prototype, we'd say this is a pretty good bet. The artist here decided to give the vehicle's headlights and taillights a bit of a tweak to make the vehicle look more aggressive and visually stimulating.

We have no clue if this take is accurate but what we do know is that it definitely spices the rather frumpy looking 7-Series up a bit.

That said, what say you, Spies? Are you digging this rendering of how the next-gen 7-Series could look?

Too close to the 5 and 6 GC.

Having been well acquainted with the 6-Series Gran Coupe, this would certainly boast MUCH more room.

I have no doubt that it will be roomier. I meant the styling, overall, is too closely aligned to it (though this is only a rendering). You can already tell by the camo'd spy shots that the styling won't stray too much from the current car, though it looks like it may have a longer snout, ala the 3 Series snout growth. That's not a bad thing, but I wish it would be more distinguished, especially for the flagship sedan. Then again, the S and C-Classes are closely aligned, though the E and CLS are certainly more distinctive..for now.

If that's accurate, the 7 Series will continue to be the large German sedan with the most tasteful styling. The Audi is Camry bland and the Mercedes is only suitable for driving in the ghetto. It's all bling and tastelessness.

The s-class is in many places rich zip codes, big cities, middle east oil sheiks homes, the top of the premium class... Many places but the ghetto is not one of them. Unless it's an older model. The s-class is a very desirable car hence the sales.

LOL @ "driving in the ghetto". S-Classes are a dime a dozen in my neighborhood, my friend, and the $5MM+ homes are anything but ghetto as are their second cars, i.e., Lambos, Ferraris, etc. Too funny. Thanks for the laugh.

This looks very close to the 6-Series Gran Coupe and 5-series, but just slightly larger. BMW is not differentiating its models enough. People used to criticize Audi for making all its cars look the same just with different lengths but BMW is now perhaps even more guilty than Audi of doing so.

Audi has long said it is moving away from its one design fits all strategy starting next year with the 2015 Audi Q7 and A4 models. If Audi follows through on its word and BMW increasingly moves to the one size fits all design strategy - watch out premium segment. Audi could very well take the global sales lead as buyers find its product differentiation increasingly appealing.

I am underwhelmed... The 7 used to be my dream car as it was a great blend of sporty look and drive with uber luxury, this doesn't say sporty to me as much as I would have hoped...

May I say, souless? That's why 7 can never touch S, not that I like the latter anyway.
