BMW 335i Coupé vs Mercedes CLK 350

BMW 335i Coupé vs Mercedes CLK 350
“Mercedes draws on BMW past”, was jubilant past week the “trade paper”. Bravo. The natives of stuttgart sold 6000 cars in July more than the resident of Munich ore rival. It sees thus well out for Mercedes. Under company head Dieter Zet seems to move the change of trend closer. But the star should be pleased not too early. BecauseBMW now gets a pointed arrow from the Köcher, which aims fully into the image-coining/shaping Coupé niche. With the new335i those take the noble CLK 350 to Bavaria in the visor. Both elegant Zweitürer. Both with strong six-cylinders. Both sow-expensively. A hostile exchange on high level. Who triumphs in the eternal prestige duel?

Thanks for the translation link.

Obviously, 335 had the sporting driver in mind and the CLK350 had the luxury commuter in mind. Two different markets - head to head competition is not likely. The guy who wants the true driving experience almost always chooses BMW based on that priority.

True, quizz. The BMW is a true drivers car.

The 335i basicaly slaightered the poor CLK 350.
The bimmer had both better consumpion and quite better performance, and a better price tag.
Only an AMG can the 335i trully fear.

I think they are both ugly...the current CLK doesn't look as nice as the last gen car. Neither does the BMW.

lofical, you said yestersay "i like audi" yet you continually refer to it as a POS.
and if you would notice, audi doesn't have a coupe in its line-up.
you know nothing about the european demographic, and audi is not a POS.
audi is always inculded in "premium" road tests, and m-b and bmw have always competed against eachother in this particular market.

logical,
i think audi intends to offer rwd on the a7, as it shares a platform with the panamera and vw based version. awd will be an option.
the a5 will be the competitor for the 3 series coupe and clk.
coupe, convertible s, rs will follow.
i forget when it will be out though, i think 2008 or 2009 sounds right.
i think it will be fwd and awd though, not rwd.
being loyal is good, but audi fans don't say bmw is crap and lexus fans don't say merc is crap, so saying audi is a pos idoes cross the line a bit.
anyway, apologies accepted.

I think i Prefer the CLK with "SPORT" package
With that package it looks Better/Sleeker than the 335
Also i know the CLK has options from here to the moon but Boy the Fully Loaded CLK has some Fun Toys

(And i am a BMW fan through & through)

This article has nothing to do with Audi, yet those insecure with their Audi purchase must ALWAYS throw in something about Audi. That is the difference between BMW / Mercedes drivers and Audi drivers. BMW and Mercedes drivers never have to justify or explain their purchases, yet Audi drivers must constantly. I suppose that says something about Audi drivers....insecure?

bimmerfan, if you would notice, it was logival ho brought it up.
he is a bmw fan.

please read the comments before saying something so stupid.
and mercedes drivers need to do the explaining.
for example
why did you buy an e class?
umm......it's comfortable and and .......

there isn't a reason to buy one over a 5 series, a6 or even a lexus gs.
same for an e class, c class sport hatch etc.

audi drivers aren't insecure, i don't think anybody here is, but people who have to constantly assure themselves that "audis are just rebadged vws" or "lexus are just rebadged toyotas" are the insecure ones, as for some reason they fear that their car might be overtaken in sales.
in fact your doing it now, you accuse audi drivers of being insecure, you put them down, basically saying audi shouldn't be regarded in the same league as m-b and bmw.
and to ask "why did you buy it" is a stupid question anyway, as most people buy it because THEY WANT IT, especially on this site.

bimmerfan, i was responding to your mention of audi!

efox, you may be right, but if porsche are putting rwd on the panamera and the audi a7 will share its platform then it makes sense for it to be rwd.

Not sure what you mean ?
are you saying that RWD is better for propulsion than AWD ?
