Big trouble brewing and Nissan and Infiniti?

My moles inside Nissan say that things are not good in Nashville and that morale is "in the toilet." It seems that it is extremely difficult to get anything done, and why is that, you might ask? Because for so many the "go-to" people in the old organization from which they'd get the info or support they needed in the past are long gone - and their replacements can't answer the questions or provide what's needed.

They specialize in 30's to 90's cars and trucks that weren't exported to North America.

Very well written... perhaps because I agree with just about all of it.
Though... I think Toyota's building the Tundra in Texas will not only work, it will be a slap in the face of Ford and GM.

In addition to a possible crisis caused by the former employees who didn't move to Memphis, what's with the 'Renaultification' of Nissan's product line?

The Nissan Versa looks inspired by the Renault Megane and the Nissan Quest van looks like a copy of the Renault Espace.

Once again DeLorenzo attempts to dish dirt and take the easy way out. Anybody could say Nissan will have some growing pains in Nashville. Anybody can find a malcontent or two who was so unemployable they couldn't jump ship in LA. The fact is the senior management team in intact. The fact is that the new faces in Manufacturing are some of the best and brightest in the business. And the fact is the new Altima, which is Nissan's bread and butter car, is a drop dead knockout that will be seen as far superior to the Camry by anyone under 60.

DeLorenzo is the automotive equivalent of a mall rat - relying on easy pickings and counting on the short memory of people like us not to call him on his tripe. Will Nissan struggle a bit for the next 10 months? Probably. Will they make money? Yes. Will they put some great new products in the pipeline and come out of 2007 as strong as ever? I'll bet fat Peter a donut it will. And that's the not-so-obvious call to make.
