CAR WARS! Whose Redesign Was BETTER? Chevrolet CORVETTE? Or Ford MUSTANG?
When it comes to delivering an all-new icon, the stakes are always high. There's one thing you can always guarantee though: someone will not be happy.

Typically, purists are left clinging to their old ways and wondering where the flip-up headlights went, while the more forward-thinking crowd is left mouth agape because their auto of choice wasn't a great enough departure — from a technology or design standpoint.

It's a tough job but someone's gotta do it.

This week Ford unveiled the highly anticipated 2015 Mustang to a mixed reception. Earlier this year Chevrolet showed off the all-new Corvette and if you head down to your local dealer I am pretty sure you could snap one up relatively quick.

Both vehicles are American icons, both are departures from the last-gen model and both have incredibly STRONG followings. BUT, we just want to know:

Whose redesign was better? The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette or the 2015 Ford Mustang?

What say you, Spies?

was that a question, or do you just want to beat up on the Mustang?

Hey, it's a legitimate question!

I don't think its much of a question when we all know the answer. The Corvette's redesign was incredible. The Mustang's was good, but it was not on the same level as the Corvette's.

I beg to differ, @Paradox.

Plenty of folks are falling all over themselves over the all-new, fastback look of the '15 Mustang.

Chevrolet of course.

Both did so much better than the current models of BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Porsche and Ferrari, without a doubt :)

Corvette rear is so hideous it is automatically disqualified.

Ford did a great job in perpetuating an iconic design, great stance and add agression. As a prior Shelby GT500 owner very pleased with new version. However, Chevy redesign moves Corvette styling and performance
to a new higher level like in 1967. This is the first Vette in many many years I would consider owning...so much in fact I have one on order.

Shouldn't we be comparing muscle cars, or the new Mustang to the "new" Camaro?

And then compare the new Corvette to the new GT50?

Oh, that's right! Ford doesn't have a super car in its stable.

What's up Ford?

A different targeted audience for the folks at Bowtie HQTRS, plus the Vette is a halo car, a the top of the food chain for GM. The Pony is the working man's buggy all gussied up, reformulated for today's world and is the Icon for the Blue Oval folks. They say different things to different people. That is why Chevy came out with the Camaro, Duh! Shout out!! for the Vette and Shout out for the Stang!! "Two" Shout Outs!!! for American Style.

I think they are both great redesigns that pissed off some of the Ford and Chevy faithful.Big deal! Exterior wise I'd have to say its a draw. Both are really cool redo's.Getting to the interior I would say if price is no object then Chevy went the extra mile because the architecture and quality of it's interior has come quite a bit further than Ford. However Ford is also building more to a price point then Chevy. The Fords interior seems more like the same dash architecture but one that has simply gone to finishing school. I think it stayed a touch too retro. However, the quality appears to be better than the outgoing version.I really like them both but price is an issue for me.So really I would be comparing the Mustang to Camaro and Challenger.Until I see the redesigns for the other cars I would have to choose Mustang.

The Mustang's exterior is an evolution of what existed before, as is the Corvette's. That being said, the Corvette is visually more interesting and appears more dynamic.

And speaking of the 'Stang,' what bothers me most is the interior, which looks so dated that it could have been in the current car and I am not entirely sure anyone would have known the difference.

I don't want to answer which looks better, because I generally prefer GM designs to Ford.

My vote is Vette ALL THE WAY. Not even close.

Ford played it WAY too safe IMHO.
