Porsche Macan To Offer 4 Cylinder Powerplant In 2014

The Porsche Macan will be offered with a four-cylinder petrol engine by the end of 2014, Porsche engineers have confirmed, ending speculation about when the new downsized engine will arrive.

Speaking about the new engine Dr Thomas Casper, manager of transmission and drivetrain development said: “I can’t tell you the exact month, but sometime in 2014, perhaps at the end.”

Since Volkswagen does not sell well (Because the whole 10,000 ~ 40,000 price range has been dominated by the Japanese and the Koreans), I guess Porsche needs to go more mainstream in order to gain profits that they lost through VW.
