BMW Considering US For New Engine Production Plant

Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, the world’s biggest maker of luxury cars, is considering building engines in North America for the first time and expanding vehicle production in the region to capitalize on growing demand, three people familiar with the matter said.

BMW may establish a motor factory in Mexico or the U.S., and could potentially decide on the project in 2014, according to the people, who asked not to be identified because the talks are confidential.

After seeing the decline in standards in the X5 and X lineup i would seriously advise reducing the range of cars that BMW builds in the USA.

Was stuck behind the latest model X3 yesterday, might as well have been behind a Honda Pilot, you could see well past the rear bumper into the rear silencer box assembly, and it was a bog standard shape, like what you would find on a Kia.

These were criticisms i used to level at the Non-German manufacturers about 5 years ago, now to my despair, BMW are going down the same cost cutting measures hoping the clients are too stupid to notice
