2015 Audi A4 Rendered By Car and Driver: Aggressive and Edgier Styling Previewed Along With New Technology

What It Is: Our well-informed artist’s interpretation as to what the next generation of the Audi A4 will look like. It’s to be edgier and more angular, and it will brim with technology, including full-LED lighting, a head-up display, and autonomous-driving functions.

The car’s aggressive styling will serve as something of a barometer for the future of the brand’s aesthetics after former head of design Wolfgang Egger was relieved of his duties and reassigned to Italdesign Giugiaro. Audi will continue to offer a four-door sedan and the Avant station wagon. Well, the latter will be sold in Europe, anyway; Americans will have to continue to settle for the jacked-up, plastic-clad Allroad.

Hmm. More aggressive? Yes. More dynamic? Yes. More appealing, not so sure. When Audi redesigned the headlights for the A5/S5 this year, I didn't like it. It made the car less "emotional", if you will. I feel the same way with this rendering. Its nice, but it doesn't elicit any type of feeling, good or bad.

Wow. Ugly. Just like the A6.

They should learn one or two from Lexus IS.

The ONLY thing the toyota IS could teach any company is HOW to take a decent looking but bland car, and totally f'k it up.

Yes - how not to put multiple dash layers such as the Lexus car with so much plastic in it too. BTW: Still loving my Audi 6er with the quality, craftsmanship of a German vehicle.

Audi said the next A4 will be a departure from current styling. This looks like an evolution of the current theme. Don't think we are looking at anything near what the next gen will look like.

It is not going to look too much different than the current one. Aside from sharper headlights and taillights. In regards to design it doesn't behoove them to move from what works and that is why when they made the statement of having more defining models with differences it was basically a lie. the A3 looks like the A4 which has similar characteristics as the A6 and so on. It is no different from Mercedes. BMW has a little more differences between the 3-series and the 7-series yet the Germans have figured out that similar design lines sell.

No, BMWm4, Audi's new design strategy will debut on the 2015 Audi A4 and Q7 models instead of the A3 sedan you referenced.

The new A4 by all accounts will look very different than the current model or any other Audi sedan (or SUV for the Q7)today.

German, the renderings of the A4 look virtually the same aside from a slightly edgier headlight and taillight. Yet the A4 looks like the current A3 which looks like the New A8. The Q7 will be more different, yet look again.

A new grill and BMW E90 body crease. yeah that's a lot edgier. Let's hope it's just a rendering.

Of course it's a rendering. Does the headline say it's the real thing? NO!

People can "think" whatever they want about the 2015 Audi A4's design. Until the actual car is unveiled by Audi itself, don't assume anything.
