First Batch Of Cadillac ELR Plug-Ins Roll Off Assembly Line
Okay, it’s not just the first Cadillac ELR that’s on its way out the door and headed to its happy owner — the whole first batch of these is on its way to some Cadillac plug-in car lovers, with Santa apparently directing the deliveries.

Some may say the Cadillac ELR is over priced — well, Consumer Reports says so — but sexy sells, and many people think the Cadillac ELR is one of the sexiest cars on the market.

It's a magnificent looking car.

If they have purged the agricultural driving experience of the Volt then it might have a chance, but GM should have killed the Volt and installed the ELR at the Volt's price point not make it double the cost more or less. I predict after a handful of holier than thou greenies buy it (those are the ONLY customers for these automotive nothings) the ELR will languish on the lot just as the Volt has. Volt production has been halted how many times because of over production???

MUCH more important is getting a real hybrid into GM's lines and not the eAssist fake hybrid nonsense. Cadillac also desperately needs top end diesels. That would have been a better use of their engineering resources than this.

The ELR exists only to project that Cadillac is doing "something" but it is not going to advance the brand in any way.

Have you actually driven a Volt? What about an ELR?

gm's e-assist is such a joke, all that gimmickry and still gets lower fuel economy ratings than most competitors. The Malibu lost to the Passat 2.5 in observed fuel economy, despite having e assist.

GM needs diesels, not e-assist.

I have driven a Volt. It is THIRD WORLD in quality and dynamics. Truly terrible car for $45K. The ELR is just a Volt coupe. CLUE IN!

$35k

And the ELR is not quite a Volt.

Third world?! Which is why it is JD Power most appealing compact car three years in a row?!

I am in a position to drive any new production car I choose and I do drive them.
