Nope, still a tarted up Q5 and WAY overpriced.

I will say a few more things. First of all, I doubt very much a Q5 is going to handle like a Macan on a track. However, who is going to track a Macan? Doubt any owner will ever drive it to 1/4th of its potential. Seems meaningless unless you want the badge and the knowledge it can do all of that...even though you'll never drive it in such a manner.

Imagine how much better it would have been two feet lower with smaller, lighter wheels, less ground clearance, more legroom, and a proper trunk for more cargo capacity.

I just get tickled at some of the comments here on Auto Spies. We have fanboys and haters of every make and model. If Porsche released a $40,000 sports car with 400HP, somebody will say "well, I can buy a Subaru WRX STI and tune it to 500HP for less than that."

The official exterior dimensions of the Macan show a height of 63.9 inches. The height of a 991 Porsche 911 C2 is 51.30 inches. A foot difference. Two feet lower, well, I think you have something akin to the original 1960's Ford GT40. You couldn't get in it without a shoe horn and some lube.

I wouldn't say it is overpriced against all of it's competition. A Macon S is significantly lower priced that a X6 XDrive 50i and yet out performs in in all respects. If you want to step up a notch, the Turbo Macon once again trumps the X6 M in all areas and for less of your hard earned money.
