LEAKED!? Puported Patent Images Of The All-New BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe Make Their Way Online
The BMW 3-Series and 4-Series have debuted and are off to a running start. The 3'er continues to be placed in the buff books "best of" lists and the all-new 4-Series is, frankly, a stunner — particularly with that M Sport package.

BMW introduced the all-new 3-Series Gran Turismo to some acclaim and mostly disdain, but the more interesting vehicle I think folks are interested in is the 4-Series Gran Coupe. That's because if you look at the 6-Series Gran Coupe, the car is just to die for.

BUT, as we've pointed out in previous stories, the spy shots of the 4-Series Gran Coupe have been underwhelming. This is because its profile looks too bulbous and far too similar to the current 3-Series GT that's already on the market.

It's supposed to be a slinky four-door coupe except it doesn't appear that way at all.

Now we're seeing images that are purported to be leaked patent images of the all-new 4 GC. The angles aren't particularly telling but from what I am seeing, I am starting to draw a blank as to why this vehicle exists.

If it follows the formula of the 6 GC, then it will be the same width as the coupe, longer than the sedan and a touch taller. This translates into a usable sedan that handles essentially the same as the sporty coupe.

Debuting as a sleeker alternative to the 3 Series, the new model - expected to be called 4 Series Gran Coupe - combined a coupe-like profile with the practicality of a four-door layout.

These latest images confirm that the look of the new sedan will stay close to the 4 Series Coupe, just as the 6 Series Gran Coupe borrows much of its coupe sibling's design...

The render looks like a mildly distorted 3 series and nothing special at all. What's next? A 2 Series coupesedan?
