DETROIT AUTO SHOW? Rolls-Royce Lifts The Curtain On The Ghost V-Spec — Where Will It Launch?

DETROIT AUTO SHOW? Rolls-Royce Lifts The Curtain On The Ghost V-Spec — Where Will It Launch?
In an interesting move, Rolls-Royce has quietly brought out a new Ghost model. Called the Ghost V-Specification, it is a limited edition with more power and some little tricks up its sleeve. Now the BIG question is "will it make it to the 2014 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS)?"

I checked the floorplan and Rolls-Royce is nowhere to be seen. Granted, it could technically find a very small home inside of BMW's booth, but I am doubtful. Usually automakers want to make their presence known, not hide out.

Oh, and I don't think Detroit is Rolls-Royce's biggest market. The legendary luxury marque could be pulling a Porsche and just remove itself to save the expense when it has no new products to showcase in a market that is, well, not it's core demographic.

So, what we know about the Ghost V-Spec — God, it sounds like a Nissan GT-R now. ;):

- 6.6-liter V12 producing 593 horsepower — 30 more than the standard model
- Slightly more fuel efficient than the standard Ghost
- Subtle interior/exterior improvements
    - Hand-painted coachline
    - Five new exterior colors
    - 21-inch wheels
    - Custom V-Spec motif on the dash, tread plates
    - Interior upholstery features contrasting piping/stitching
    - New clock design

All of that said, check it out yourself, below.

"I don't think Detroit is Rolls-Royce's biggest market."

Of course not. A bankrupt city that symbolizes the current economic situation of the United States of America can not even afford a house for a family, let alone a Rolls-Royce.

And I guess the British can afford to show something like this quietly, because guess what, all the rich people will be all over it anyway.

But for the American automakers (And also the Japanese, but especially the American automakers), they do a lot of ads on TV and try their best to make their image better...... but no one cares.

I would say that is the power of the European brands. The unlimited amount of brand power that easily fascinates people (This is something the Europeans heavily take pride in, as they care about craftsmanship and heritage for their brands. Something the Americans do not give a flying fuack about, thus, shows the future of this idiotic country).

Who cares if RR is revealing it quietly, we already know it will sell anyway.
