BMW M4 vs Lexus RC F - Who Is Going Come Out On Top In A Shootout?
For years the BMW M3 (now M4 in coupe form) was the dominant player in the high performance RWD coupe market. It was the benchmark competing automakers just couldn’t take down, despite their best efforts. Today, however, may turn out to be a different story. The new kid on the block is the Lexus RC F. It’s V8-powered, looks mean, and may just be the car BMW prayed would never be built. We’re talking potential game changer here.

Agreed or I'd save $20k and take a CLA 45 AMG 0-60 is off by half a sec and handling less sharp, but 4 wheel drive, a sweet exhaust, & a hot design make up for it

I would defend BMW on this one if I could. But I simply can't.

I mean, how am I supposed to defend such a boring looking car? It takes a real Euro badgewhore to defend such a car like the new M4. Absolutely nothing that makes it stand out, I much prefer the last gen model.

On the other hand, Lexus RC-F is just way too gorgeous. I can see myself buying that car in a few years.

For those that want to say "look at me", it's the RC-F. For those that want to be more stealth, it's the M4. Performance wise, I don't think there's much that will separate them, especially if BMW didn't foul up the steering.

From an interior perspective, the RC-F wins this one, hands down.

Rather than being stealthy, it's more like M4 is for those who want to just "blend in".

Hell, even the new Honda Civic looks amazing. And yet, look at that BMW M4. That puke yellow and that puke-inducing design are such a perfect match to show the stupidity of BMW.

From Automobile Magazine two days ago. "The weight target [of the RC-F] is a rather husky 3970 pounds."

That's about 700lbs more than the M4, in fact if it's accurate that is closer in weight to the 575hp M6 (4255lbs) than the M4. Looks are subjective, but dynamically speaking if the figures are accurate the M4 is probably going to be quicker, and more fun to drive. We'll see when they're both out though and we're working with real information.

Holy shizite, really? That's heavier than an RS5, I believe, and the GT-R. Is it going to have AWD, at least?

The Lexus grille looks like a XL black fishnet tank top.

Both of these cars are going to be awesome driving at 15 mph on a packed freeway. Oooohhhh, and love the sound from the engine accelerating to 15 mph too. Their handling prowess will definitely come into play as they zip from one lane to another thinking they're actually gaining on the rest of the crowd. Love it.

BMW has nothing to worry about. I mean, the IS-F cant even figure out how to have adjustable bolsters and a thigh support. Cheap interior from a camry. I mean, this isn't even close!
The E46 M# is way better than an IS-F.

the lexus has more out there styling, definitely the fresher and louder of the two. not necessarily better, just depends on what you are looking for.
if the m4 has comparative steering to the 3/4 series and the rc-f is like the is350 then the bmw might have some problems - like losing their crown across their entire lineup.
styling aside, we will have to wait and see who takes it on the track.
on the streets, the bmw will probably have an advantage with the turbo engine- mods will be popular.
