DETROIT AUTO SHOW: Volkswagen's GOLF R Provides The Right Cockpit To Take On The Canyons With Ease
It hard to improve upon standard for hot hatches, and the GTI is no exception. While it never trounced the competition in sheer performance the overall balance won the hearts of the enthusiast. Yes it was easy to drive the GTI fast and make a mistake or two and get away with it.
But Volkswagen finally decided to take the GTI and turn it into something special. The 290HP AWD, Golf R is the hot hatch to silence the critics once and for all. Yeah there have been previous R models but none with the raw horsepower to shut down those Japanese tin can racers that may go fast but are a bear to live with.
The creature comforts are where the Golf R will stand out, making it child's play dispensing the cayon curves with ease.
