VIDEO: Cool demo of the new VW EOS retractable roof

Wow, that sunroof is insane. So on one car you get:
- retractable hardtop
- panoramic
- sunroof

Put a decent diesel in this thing and I am sold, this has everything I want. Btw, does anyone know if there are any diesel convertibles offered in the US? (I think Europe has a diesel CLK convertible)

i don't think this car will come with a diesel but i hope it does.

jeffy, we (the uk, continental europe may be different) don't get a diesel clk convertible, we do get diesel coupe though.
we get an a4 cab diesel, bmw 3 series convert diesel, c70 diesel, eos diesel, 9-3 convert diesel, astra twintop diesel, megane cc diesel, 307 cc diesel, 206 cc diesel, and i think that's it.

Rupert - stop rubbing it in :-p Actually with the switch to cleaner diesel in september (is that the date?), it should help get a bit of a jumpstart on the diesel industry again. I still know a lot of people here who think diesels are the loud, dirty, clunky things that were from the 70's

people here still say that.
they're wrong though.
bmw's, audi's and merc's diesels are all very good.
they'll most likely introduce it on the more "family orientated" cars first (as in non-sports cars), like they did here. as in suvs, minivans, then saloons and wagons, the small cars (civic for example) then sports cars.
