Audi Says S3 Sedan Will Be the Flagship Of Audi Entry Level Vehicles

I saw this car in Italy in September, actually Amsterdam Airport its fantastic looking. I also saw the CLA, on the road, in Italy... in comparison this A3 is the stand out. Imagine it'll have more room in the back seat too. Still the Star has is cache, which makes me think this A3 will have a significantly better interior and out gun the CLA on the road.

nah...I'd skip right over to the VW dealer and get a fully loaded Jetta for less with more interior room

The CLA stands out design wise, while the A3 offers you a cheaper more compact A4

It would get my attention with 5 doors and a manual, but automatic sedans are just not fun nor practical.

There is an old saying that goes something like this, " You can dress up a pig and put lip stick on it but it's still a pig". As far as VWs go you can dress one up and put Audi lip stick on it but it's still a VW.

Well the Bentley Continental is built on the VW Phaeton platform, not a bad VW that Bentley.....

The Porsche Cayenne & Audi A7 are off the Toureg platform... they still sell to their markets....

Actually I believe Porsche did most of the work on the platform used in the toureg/q7/cayenne. That said, you make a great point either way!

And contrary to many "posters on the internet", MOST Audi models (A4, A5, A6, A7, A8, Q5) are on an AUDI DEVELOPED platform (MLP) that is currently not shared with other VAG companies although the upcoming Porshe Macan is using it.

The CLA has a star on the front, THAT is what makes the car... have you seen both of them? CLA is awkward the A3 is clean, lithe and great looking. The CLA is an ugly duck.... A3 - Jetta, get real dude... Why is an A3 a cheap alternative to the A4 but the CLA isn't a cheap, dumpy alternative to a C Class.

C'class is a bitch car, I laugh at guys driving these things like they're Lambos.
