These latest spy pictures show the new baby Jaguar saloon testing ahead of its expected reveal in the autumn.

The model, caught here cold-weather testing in Scandanavia, will be a direct rival to the likes of the BMW 3-series, and is expected to go on sale soon after March next year. However, sources suggest that model won't be seen for another 18 months

I hope something with much more captivating lines emerges. I would hate to think they watered down the CXF lines to get the XF and then plan to water a dated design down once again.

To be a 3 series killer it needs: A spare tire, a dip stick, decent tires that are readily available (not run flats), and a Mercedes C Class drive/ride. That I would consider.

This is a 3-Series "hunter", not yet a "killer". No one has proven to be a "killer" of the 3 Series yet. Maybe the upcoming C-class?
