Well...If paying $100k for a Nissan is wrong...in the case of the GT-R...I don't want to be right, this car is engineering excellence

This car is beast!

What's so "beast" about this car? It's just a Porsche 911 wannabe Japanese vehicle.

The true car enthusiasts would choose Porsche 911 over this. I mean, who would pay over 100k for a "Nissan"? No celebrity in the U.S. is interested in this car, when Porsche 911 is famous among pretty much, everyone.

After all, only the Europeans are capable of making the best cars in the world, simply no one else.

(Deboost me if you believe Lexus is the best and European cars are garbage :D)

(Boost me if you prefer European over anything else :D)

JDMUSMuscle,

It may not have the panache as a Porsche, but it sure does beats everything else in that price point. Not to mention, it is a track beast. For you to bring up Porsche when everyone else is just praising the car for what it is shows how much of an engineering excellence this machine is. It may not be as smooth as a Porsche, but it also costs 50k less than what you can get with Porsche for the same performance. Looks and feel are subjective, but you can't deny the fact that this is an excellent performance vehicle.

SSP350, I disagree. When it comes to the whole racing history and the engineering prowess, Porsche is I would say, one of the kings in the automobile world.

Nissan I believe tried to use Paris Hilton to promote their car in the U.S., but as far as I remember, she didn't show up. Not surprised, because after all, not many U.S. celebrities actually were seen driving this POS. But many of them drive Porsche 911, though.

GT-R has no "heritage", it's just a Playstation-like car and on top of it, this is not even German. And to think that you have to pay 100k for a Nissan......yikes! Would you pay 100k to buy a Japanese car? Or even 50k? Because if you could spend over 50k, everyone buys German. Agree?

Ridiculous! Comparing a cars' worthiness based on how many celebrities drive them is asinine. Just because a celebrity drives a car does not make it a great car! That being said, the Porsche is a great car, no doubt. But so is this Nissan GT-R. Cars are not reviewed and praised based on celebrity status, and the fact that you keep saying that makes me laugh, and think you must be very young.

How is it ridiculous? Ask anyone and see if anyone would say GT-R is a great car.

I am pretty sure many of them would say "What is that?" because simply this car is not even well known to many people. Even look at this website, there are many people who would tell you that the Japanese cars are soulless, and boring to look at, too. If I am young, then so are the majority of car enthusiasts who love the European cars on this website as well. Thus, I don't think I am the wrong one.

And why do you think the celebrities drive certain vehicles? That is because those brands are absolutely well established, and they know those brands would make them appear rich. Or what, do you think the people who drive M3 or Porsche 911 take it to track?

TCLA, I have a feeling that you are still too young to talk about cars here. Once you grow up a little bit more, you will get tired of those boring ricers like GT-R that only kids would be interested in and start to get into those amazing European automobiles like Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Lamborghini and such that only the educated adults can understand.

JDMUSMuscle,

Using your concept of history, there's no debating objectively. Furthermore, your analogy use of celebrities and using adjectives like "most" and "all" to describe them, is very narrow-minded. It's like saying all rappers drives cars with chrome wheels. It's just not true. If you really want to talk about history, remember, Porsche sports cars starting with the under pinnings from a Volkswagen Beetle....*shrugs*

Aren't US dealers already adding a surcharge to this vehicle that brings the total price to about what Nissan is asking? I guess Nissan wants their share of profits too.

@SSP350

Hes actually being sarcastic. To say he is a fan of Japanese and US vehicles would be the understatement of the century hence his handle (name).

My friend, you misunderstood me. I believe that everyone should praise the European brands, all for the sake of greater economy of the European nations.

Because truly, if not Europe, who can make the best luxury brands in the world? The Japanese and the Americans can try for "ages" (literally), but really, everyone on Earth knows that no one does it better than the Europeans when it comes to anything luxury. Do you not agree?

Nissan traditional foe has always been Toyota. What is Toyota's response? Do not confuse this as a Porsche battle. What will the next "Supra" pack to fight this Shogun War between Toyota and Nissan. Also applies to Lexus and Infiniti in samurai war. Watch "The Last Samurai" to understand what the original Infiniti Q45 was about. That was a beautiful car vs. Lexus LS copy of MB S-Class.
