FIRST Pics Of The All-New Lincoln Navigator Slip Out — Is It A STUD or a DUD?

FIRST Pics Of The All-New Lincoln Navigator Slip Out — Is It A STUD or a DUD?
Now I don't want to kick a car company when it's down, but WOW they make it so easy sometimes. And although I want to remain objective and not potentially taint the opinions of others in an open-ended story, I think we're looking at a new competitor to take the intercontinental title of ugly.

Our friends at BurlappCar have obtained two images of the new Lincoln Navigator. To say the least, they're definitely interesting.

I'll let you decide the rest.

Some things to note: It is now sporting a set of LED DRLs or parking lights reminiscent of the "Audi treatment" for the A6 model. In addition, the "mustache" grille treatment makes yet another appearance. It certainly gives the vehicle...presence?

According to BurlappCar:

"And it is not "all new". It is mainly a new front, rear and interior. Plus the availability of the 3.5 Liter turbo for the 1st time."

So, without further ado, I have to ask: is the new Lincoln Navigator a STUD or a DUD?

**Check out the two images below to help validate your opinion(s)!

Some of us subconsciously destroy relationships in our lives...I have come to the conclusion that Ford is doing that with Lincoln. The history involved makes it too hard for the Ford family to simply kill the brand, so they have decided to give it a slow painful death deliberately so that in the end all will have seen that there was not reason to keep it alive. A twisted thought I know...but what other excuse can there be? The same HR department hired the people that are doing wonders at Ford...yet somehow everybody at Lincoln is doesn't know how to design cars??? Ford has enough cash right now to fix prety much any problem that Lincoln has..if they wanted to.

What happened to Lincoln, I remember the 2001 Lincoln Navigator, it was gorgeous, big, bold, and had a road presence, then Lincoln followed up with the then very popular Lincoln LS, I really thought they were on to something but, again for some reason, Like Cadillac, Lincoln suffers from lack of consistency

And yes Land Rover does SUVs very well, however the 30 plus year old G Class Still has may heart

Dear god, that's hideous. I literally gasped when I saw that grille. Can't recall the last time I did that to a newly designed car. The Lexus GS's predator face almost did that, but this….this is just….no.

FORD must believe they can rake in the dough off the few people who still put down money for these ancient, 1990s behemoths.

If you want a real luxury SUV, then always go for German.

This is most likely a rebadged Ford F-150 and looks pretty ugly, too.

The United States does not know what luxury is and how to make one. Always only bet on the mighty Europeans for that.

Nah. Land Rover still dominates SUVs.

OK, just saw other pictures of it. Doesn't look as garish as the close-up here, but it's still nothing special or attractive.

While it's still ugly, the full pics aren't nearly as bad as the 2 on here. It's about what people should expect from a Lincoln.

Old car with a little bit of new cosmetic dogshit. Will sell about as well (poorly) as the current Navigator, seeing as it brings nothing interesting to the table. Dud, obviously.

USA Today pics in link above are better, but it's still lipstick on a pig. Instrument cluster is the only part that's totally new, and that's exaclty like Ford's. There's one buyer for this...corp limo dirvers...and Caddy's offer is way cooler. For non-corp drivers Euro SUVs are much more fun.

OMG! That front end and hood looks so dated and ugly, almost like something from the 40's when cars were massive, very square shaped and not at all aero dynamic. But Kudos to Ford for NOT making it as hideous and creepy looking as the Lexus LF-NX-Predator, Lexus' version of the Pontiac Aztec.

I guess I was under the impression that ford/lincoln was doing a full redesign of the expedition/navigator. This is pretty disappointing with the F-150 redesign. Was expecting something new. The profile pics look nearly identical to the current model and the interior is almost the same. The current model has been on the road since at least 2007. Guess volume isn't high enough to justify the cost of a redesign.

Why do all other car sites have the actual unveiling with official pics, and Autospies still has bad quality leaked pics?

I can't find any other explanation but Occarnut's (above). Ford must want to kill Lincoln in a slow and very painful way. What a shame!

They needed to kill Mercury, make Volvo their near premium brand with Ford and Volvo the "same" under the skin, and Lincoln needed to go RWD. When they sold Jaguar to Tata they should have maintained an RWD platform development agreement. Ford needs a Range Rover, but they sold that too.

Mulally worked wonders for Ford, so I have to wonder why Ford's efforts with Lincoln are beyond inept.
