Audi Planning S3 Plus To Fill Gap Between A3 And RS3

Audi is planning to fill the gap between the current S3 and the RS3 with an S3 Plus version, which will come with approximately 375 HP.

The gap between the S3 and the top of the line RS3 will be filled by the German based automaker Audi with a so-called S3 Plus. The model in question will become available in the hatchback form and it’s believed to be officially unveiled by the end of this year and to go on sale sometimes in 2015. The upcoming Audi S3 Plus is believed to come with an impressive 375 HP and the RS3 will go beyond the 400 HP (298 kW) mark.

A3, S3, S3+, RS3 and then probably RS3+. Why not just make the PLUS models the standard S and RS?

Seems a bit odd that they feel the need to fill this so-called gap. Especially since they created certain gaps in their lineups over the past few years, i.e., elimination of the A4 3.2.
