SPIED: NEW Images Of The Leaping Cat's New XJ Sedan Nip/Tuck
In the large luxury sedan class, it's going to be pretty tough for all the players to rival the all-new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Carrying the cachet of the three-pointed star plus most of the industry's advancements, it's stiff competition.

If you were looking to be different from the pack though, the Jaguar XJ — in my humble opinion — would be a great pick. Aside from the company's reliance on a dated infotainment display that lags and can be a bit cumbersome, it's a pretty stellar vehicle.

If it were me making a purchase, I'd say go for the all-wheel drive six cylinder, but that's me.

Though the competition has ramped up recently, we're only at the halfway point with Jaguar's big cat. So, it's time for a refresh and some slight updates. From the images we've seen we're expecting this to be some slight modifications to the front/rear valence and headlights/taillights. Nothing more, nothing less.

It would be HUGE news if the company updated its software and made the graphical user interface a bit more friendly.

Sales of the XJ are dismal (MY2013 5434 units) relative to the Mercedes S and the BMW 7. Meanwhile Hyundai sold 3578 units of the Equus. Mercedes came in at 13,303 and BMW at 10,932. Lexus moved 10,727 units of the LS. The XJ sold as well as the Audi A8, but that is hardly an accomplishment.

The fact that the XJ looks like an old Merkur Scorpio hatchback is the culprit. Bertone B99...build it...genius. Time to ditch Callum.
