This looks better than the outgoing model, and the car is a nice product. I have a couple friends that own these and they love them. That said this platform dates back to 2003 with minor refreshes. The GM fleet was completely overhauled in 2007 and yet again for 2015. Are these refreshes going to keep it competitive? Well if/when Lincoln comes out with an aluminum body on frame, the game could change as that would probably reduce its weight by 1000lbs. The F-150 lost 700lbs, so the increase in mileage plus a new body will be attractive. Until then, this model will soldier on as a nice vehicle but probably will not make dramatic inroads or conquest many of its competitors. Ford has a significant challenge on its hands with Lincoln but remember it has experience in the premium luxury market having owned Jag & Aston Martin. Though they were sold, much of what is currently available there, was designed by Ford.
