If Nissan's Next Gen GT-R Looks Like THIS Would You Put In On Your Short List?

When Nissan unveiled the Sport Sedan concept at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month, the Japanese carmaker was not only previewing the next-generation Maxima but also the future styling of the brand. With this in mind, renderer X-Tomi Design has created images of the next-generation Nissan GT-R boasting styling cues and wearing the same Strad Amber body color as the concept. Nissan insists the next-gen GT-R will have a brutal appearance to back up its new potent, albeit hybrid, powerplant.

This car is arguably worse looking than the current model, which is pretty plain. The side looks like a BMW Z4. I'm sure it will be potent, but I don't see this car becoming a new benchmark. These cars are niche players and though it has the competency, styling matters.

For that price, the car is still worth it.

But I don't think CTS's price can be justified, considering the fact that it lacks the sex appeal that the German brands have, and also the new CTS is pretty ugly, too. It should be below 20,000 dollars, in order to get more customers. And I believe that could help Cadillac.

This car reminds me nothing of a BMW , or a Nissan for that matter, maybe Mazda but this is not an image of the car, this is not even a concept this might be an CGI of the concept so rushing to judgment before you actually see the final product isn't the wisest.

JDMUSMuscle Congrats! dumbest thing I've heard all year. Cadillac should sell the CTS for the price of a Nissan Sentra because you don't like the way it looks.... Excellent business strategy sell the car for less than it cost to make one, so you sell more.... Maybe they should just give the ATS' away with the purchase of an iPad.

This would be a good improvement over the current GT-R. However, it's a bit too closely aligned to the 370Z that the criticism would be that it just looks like a stretched Z. And the rear looks Ferrari-like.

I like it...great rendering. I do think that Nissan needs to have a totally unique look for the GT-R, and steer clear of the family face for their other vehicles.

With that said, this looks like an exercise in styling for the next gen Altima Coupe.

I'm skeptical that the new GTR would look anything like this. The GTR and its precursor vehicles have never looked svelte and sexy - it's part of the car's legacy to have a brutish and under-the-radar look. I'd think that current GTR owners would not embrace this design. And that beak looks like something that hatched from the same nest as an Acura.

Simply; NO. Still holding out for Acura to show some common sense and revamp the NSX...if they don't it looks like I'll be going back to the Supra...

Fix the ugly face and make it dollar for dollar the same as a Stingray and it would sell more than the ridiculously terrible 1237 units for MY2013 in the USA. Nissan has it priced like a 911 and NO ONE wants a 911 grade car with a Nissan emblem on it. Making it an Infiniti Skyline GTR would make infinite (sic) more sense.

It may not weigh 5000 lbs but it looks like it could. Ever since Renault bought a major chunk of Nissan, many of their models have had a decidedly French look to them, (read ugly.) I think they would do well in terms of sales if they were to hire some non French designers. People buy cars base largely on looks. Make them attractive and they will sell even if they don't drive well or have a technical advantage. This one isn't as offensive as some of the others but for the price, I'd expect a prettier car.

Renault has been bad for Nissan and now that they are in bed with Mercedes it can only get worse. The French have literally no taste when it comes to cars and their entire history proves it.

The GT-R will look nothing like this.

Just soften that grill (now common in all Nissans) and it'll be OK

Nissan can use some designers from TOYOTA CA or GM Detroit for better styling, but the most important thing is to keep the weight down to 3500 lb w/ 50:50 distribution. The latter is very hard for front engine AWD, but a smaller engine+hybrid system with battery in the back will certainly help!

If the GT-R still goes like a bat out of hell, I could care less if its as ugly as one...GODZILLA LIVES
