CHICAGO AUTO SHOW: Hyundai's Adding SOMETHING To The Veloster Nameplate — WHAT Could It Be?
The Hyundai Veloster is an interesting product. Sporty, practical third door access and it's not too pricey if you ask us.

But I wouldn't comfortably say that it's connected with the market.

This is even after the Turbo model was launched. Now it sounds like Hyundai's gonna try a different approach with a new addition. BUT, what could it be?

To be honest, I am a bit lost on this one. There hasn't been anything particularly noteworthy that the brand's been up to; however, perhaps Hyundai will take a stab at the market with a hybrid by shoehorning the Sonata Hybrid's motor inside the Veloster.

Is it a stretch for me to assume that? Yes, yes it is.

Can YOU do any better though?

30,711 units for MY2013 for the Veloster is a great success and each one is total profit given that it is an accent with a unique body. Sales figures for the GTI MY2013 were 30,931. So is the GTI "not connected to the market" either? Mini Cooper kicks both of them: 41,915 MY2013, but the Hyundai is a complete success.

Considering what the Civic and Focus sell I wouldn't say it's a success, no.

@Agent00R saying "Considering what the Civic and Focus sell I wouldn't say it's a success, no." is beyond illogical. It's like saying "Considering what the Camry and Accord sell I wouldn't say the 3 Series BMW is a success." The Veloster in NO way competes with the Civic or Focus. The ELANTRA does that for Hyundai. But by your same twisted illogic the GTI and Mini Cooper are dismal failures too as are the Scion TC, FRS, and the Subaru BRZ. Compared to the other NICHE cars the Veloster ACTUALLY COMPETES AGAINST it is a very solid performer.
