Vector Prototypes shows at Crystal Cove car show in Newport Beach

This is a flashback from the 1980s. These cars actually sold the first issue of Car and Driver I bought as a kid because they were on the cover. I stopped dead when I saw these. They look like crap compared to today's standards, but they are prototypes of the original Vector W12 from 1987. I thought some people on this site might appreciate them. The guy that brought them out said he just dusted them off and brought them out. I was one of the few people who knew what they were.

Absolutely terrific!!!
I remember that article from Car & Driver - quite something back then. In 1980's hyperbole, the Vector CEO said it would do 200 MPH with a Corvette motor and an Olds Toronado 70's transaxle...yikes.

Only thing that could top that for 80's wow value was a DeLorean DMC12. Things have come a long way since then, thank God.
