Super Bowl 48 MVP, Malcolm Smith, Is Awarded A Chevrolet Silverado — Is GM Trying To Get Ahead Of The Ford F-150?
To be straightforward, I am not a big football fan. Yeah, I said it.

It doesn't matter to me who wins. Even if it were a local team, I am not invested in who wins or loses. However, I do enjoy watching the game as emotions are running high and the advertisements tend to be interesting. This year was an anomaly though as the ads were mostly lame and lacked impact.

But even more lame was what General Motors provided the Super Bowl's MVP, the Seattle Seahawks' Malcolm Smith. After cracking some skulls to get his rightful MVP title, Michael Strahan presented Smith with the keys to his all-new Chevrolet Silverado.

Insert the sound of a record being pulled off a player here.

After years of flashy GM products being handed out it seems the company chose a different strategy for this year's big game. This has me wondering, simply, why?

Could it be because the company is fearful of the all-new Ford F-150?

What say you, Spies?

Same thing done at the World Series. It's usually the latest GM model. Guess GM decided to go with trucks in 2013/2014 instead of a vette.

First of all, GM and Ford are always doing battle for truck supremacy. Nothing new here.

GM will give what ever vehicle is best for their image strategy. This year, it's the Silverado. Smith should be thankful for what ever GM is willing to give him. He received it for playing a game/providing entertainment.

Yes, GM is scared about the aluminium in the F-150
