CHICAGO AUTO SHOW: Is The 2015 Lincoln Navigator Sporting A Face ONLY A Mother Could Love?

CHICAGO AUTO SHOW: Is The 2015 Lincoln Navigator Sporting A Face ONLY A Mother Could Love?
We're only in the month of February and it seems like we may already have 2014's most controversial product. That, my friends, would be the 2015 Navigator.

I am not sure if we can say it's "new" or "all-new" because it looks so derivative. But, in all honesty, that's the least of its problems.

I remember when the Navigator first debuted. It was one of the first luxury marques to trot out a full-size luxury sport-utility vehicle. It had presence and oozed luxury. It was something you'd like to buy.

Now though we're questioning it quite a bit.

That's because its looks are questionable, at best. Equipped with a front grille that's taken the "mustache" look too far, it's definitely got presence but we doubt it's the kind you'd want. We were hoping the interior would be something enticing but we were let down. It's pretty drab and ho-hum when compared against the likes of anything, really.

So, I've got to ask two things of you:

1) If YOU could nickname the 2015 Navigator anything, what would it be? And;

2) Does the Navigator boast ONLY a face a mother could love?

Come on, Lincoln. Really? Against the Escalade, this thing looks outright homely. Not homely in a "oh, not ugly" way. But homely in a "oh, not attractive" way. And that interior looks like it came out of my Dad's 1977 Mercury.

I actually find it pretty gorgeous.

In fact, so much better looking than BMW X6 and Mercedes GL.

If I had the money, then I don't see why I would go against buying this.

Well, compared to the old baleen whale grill, I think it's an improvement. I never judge appearance by pictures. I have to see it for real. However, I don't think it's bad at all.

A boring facelift. When is Ford going to give Lincoln products that are premium?

Hideously overpriced. And just hideous.

If this is the best they can do they should bring the waterfall grill back.

The front would look better if the bars went straight across and there was no metal "v" going through the middle. Ford should be embarassed about the update to the rear, which looks like a joke. The interior is pathetic and dated. I'm sure it would be bought by livery fleets who get a good deal versus an Escalade.

Why did my comment get that many deboosts?

I guess this website really has many Europe worshippers.

I guess they like driving Beijing Benz's Mercedes E class ;)

I heard the Navigator drives like a boss, but gawd is it ghastly.

As a four time Lincoln purchaser, this redesign is a FAIL. I would rather buy the Ford version optioned out.
