SPIED: The Lexus RC Makes Its FIRST Public Appearance ON THE STREET

SPIED: The Lexus RC Makes Its FIRST Public Appearance ON THE STREET
Although we've been more than happy to bring you a slew of photos of the all-new Lexus RC and RC F live from the 2014 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS), we always look forward to seeing the cars on the street. As I've written before, it makes a BIG difference to see a product out of the harsh lighting and relative to other vehicles on the road.

Well, we've gotten lucky with the all-new Lexus RC350, which was spotted in SoCal. That makes sense as Toyota's operations are based in Torrance.

This particular car was finished in a bright blue and was posted by our friends at Kaizen Factor. Although they seem to think it's an RC F in disguise, I actually think it looks precisely like the dark red car seen in Detroit and making its way around the auto show circuit.

The boys and girls over at Kaizen Factor point out the wheels and the foglights embedded into the spindle grille. Well, wheels aren't a big deal and if you look at our shots from Detroit, the car has the same foglight treatment.

What they DIDN'T spot was the F Sport badge that appears to be taped up on the front fenders. Likely this is just a production RC350 F Sport, which shouldn't be out of the question as there is an IS350 F Sport for sale right now.

**Check out our shots from the 2014 Detroit Auto Show below!

Some photos of a new 2015 Lexus RC 350 surfaces from an unknown source in Ultrasonic Blue Mica. At first glance it looks like the 2015 RC F which recently debuted in Detroit last month, but that particular car and the RC 350 in red are currently on display at the Chicago Auto Show. This mystery RC 350 which was spotted in Southern California yesterday sporting Michigan manufacturer plates. The car is a bit confusing as it has the qualities of an F SPORT model because of the color, but it has some quirky features highlighted below. Is this a test mule of the RC F disguised as a regular RC 350? Perhaps this is a preview of a future RC 350 F SPORT? Lexus has not announced an F SPORT model for the RC, but it’s probable we may hear something at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.

Cohesion is missing, while this car has a few decent design cues, they collide rather than flow into one another.

The profile hints at elegance while the front is Blunt and the back is choppy...

Every recent design cliche all rolled into one. That's Lexus!

That front end makes me sea sick.

Waiting for JDMUSMuscle to gush over the quality of this tacky, tasteless thing

Tacky and tasteless?

It's funny, when Lexus does boring designs, then they say it's boring. When Lexus tries to do more with design, it's tasteless and trying too hard.

Keep worshipping Europe, friend ;)

This is a good looking car. It is more interesting to look at than the 435. But the driving experience is still an open question.

I'll say this.

The gar looked GREAT in person, front grille aside.

I could also do without the slats in the rear valence.

Otherwise, GREAT!

00R called out the biggest things wrong with it. Grille, rear valance, and I would add the front headlights and Nike swoosh LEDs. Had these been executed right, the car would have had a more mature stance without being grandpa's Lexus. But yes, Lexus had to go over the top to get press and attention llike a teenager acting out to get the parent's attention.

BTW JD, most in this post do not like the design, so who is in the wrong, but go ahead and buy one. Someone has to.

You are the same, moron. Keep worshipping Europe ;)

It's actually funny how two of big morons on this website that are not good at arguing paged me. ;D

The blue colored RC's awful spindle grill really looks way way to big for the car and so much so it looks ready to fall off of the car, That gigantic Lexus L on the grill certainly doesn't help to the already ugly looking grill neither. Not liking how the taillights are sticking way off the car.

The body kit on the RCF looks much better. The vertical grills don't work here.

The front end could make Medusa freeze up. Cant make up their minds with the vertical bars, OR the Honey comb lower. The Nike Swish lights, AND the round lights.... the fake vents in the back are reminiscent of the GTI.... this is a confused mess, regardless how potent it "might" be.... keep it up Lexus! My 6 year old nephew can draw cars better than this creature...

not a good looking car at all. Very surprised that Lexus went ahead with the build of this car. They will sell a couple, yet not very many. Hopefully the performance is alot better this time around as last time fared horribly against the M3 .

I am with Jeremy Clarkson on this one. I expect most will find it stunning in person. Trolls above excluded.

I think other companies will start to copy this car. The look of things to come. Great looking car with alot of detail....
