Buick Considers Targeting MINI With Rebadged Opel Adam

General Motors is currently considering producing a Buick version of the Opel Adam, which will be aimed towards the North American continent.

The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet but according to the guys at Automobile Magazine, who have recently spoken to Mark Reuss, the head of global product development for General Motors, a Buick version of the Adam is currently being taken into consideration. In fact, Reuss responded with “it ain’t a bad idea” when asked about a possible Buick Adam.

In order to receive the Buick badges all over its body, the Adam, which is currently being sold as an Opel and as a Vauxhall, will have to receive some more luxurious items to it and these would probably mean better quality materials which, in the end will be translated into a more expensive version of the model. The American Adam will not receive the Chevrolet badge because GM thinks this will collide with the Sonic (Aveo).

Good luck. MINI started out of the gate with a history, iconic styling, and a loyal following. Then BMW bought the brand, ran with it, and built on that. It's hard to go up against that, and win. Good luck. Seriously, I mean it.

Where is the reference to 'targeting the Mini' other than in the title of this thread?

It could work. Buick is not what it used to be (which is a good thing) and it's rather Opel in U.S.
Lincoln is the new Buick.

A Buick Adam would be a brilliant move. The one thing they should NOT do is make is stupidly expensive like the Encore.
