South Carolina Governor Says Unionized Automakers Not Welcome

South Carolina is glad to have non-union jobs from BMW, Michelin and Boeing, but don’t expect any factories from Ford, General Motors, Chrysler or other companies with unionized work forces.

According to Gov. Nikki Haley, they’re not welcome.

Haley said Wednesday that she discourages companies from building new facilities in South Carolina if they are planning to bring a union with them.

“It’s not something we want to see happen,” she told The Greenville News following an appearance at an automotive conference in downtown Greenville.

“We discourage any companies that have unions from wanting to come to South Carolina because we don’t want to take the water.”

America is changing. Personally, I say let people decide for themselves, and that includes the auto workers, too. Consumers will decide if they want to buy cars made by unions, or not.

What's the worst that can happen? The company could make massive losses, and then a pro-union government could borrow many billions of dollars it doesn't have and give it to the failing company, and then send the bill to the tax-payers.

I guess the worst that can happen is they vote union and then the fed bails them out, lets them pay with worthless stock instead of cash and we lose $15 billion...

Oh yeah we've done that.....

The trick is to ban all unions from all political action and restrict them ONLY to negotiating work issues.

Then we should also ban all corporations from political action, and while we are at it, Churches too.
