Ford Surrenders On Sync - Begins Adding Buttons Back To Interface
Ford Sync is getting a new look. Again. This time Ford is adding more knobs and buttons to Ford Sync. At the same time, Ford says voice control will do more with fewer, shorter commands. More Sync-linked applications will be offered for your smartphone. Look for the changes on Ford’s major-redesign 2015 models, starting with the Ford Mustang sports car and the Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Good sign that Ford is listening and responding to customer's feedback.

But don't hold your breath for something wonderful any time soon. BMW's much lamented iDrive has been around for over a decade, and begrudgingly revised numerous times. It seems that car makers don’t do this stuff well, even with when they team with Microsoft, makers of that stunningly attractive and unbelievably popular Windows 8 (that was sarcasm, BTW).

Sync is horrid! That is because of the association with PC/Microsoft...a Sync done by Apple would be brilliant.

Back in the days of iOS 6, I would have agreed with you! But today, with iOS 7 looking a lot like Windows 8 and lots of iPhone and iPad owners saying they hate it, the Apple has lost its shine.

My phone is Windows 8, and it's a great OS for the phone. However, the first thing I did when I bought a new laptop was wipe the drive and install Windows 7.

Windows 8 is a great OS for a touch interface. But it has no business on a normal desktop computer.

I agree with ATC. I have had a lap top with windows 8 since October and still hate it. I use it in 7 mode and 8 is just in the way.
