2015 Audi TT REVEALED - Design Shows Aggressive Front End With 3-D Grille and Minimalist Interior
The new Audi TT has made its world debut on the eve of the Geneva motor show. The third-generation model sports an evolved style, and is both lighter and more powerful than the outgoing model.

Pictured here officially for the first time, the new TT will go on sale in the UK this autumn. For its third incarnation, the TT has been given an all-new exterior design that looks sleeker while retaining similar proportions and dimensions to its predecessor as well as a comparable silhouette. The design combines more precise detailing up front, crisper feature lines within the body, a boldly curved roof and significantly altered rear end.

Described as being new from the ground up, the latest TT also receives a sophisticated and larger 2+2 interior that features a contemporary digital instrument panel and clean-looking dashboard similar in appearance to that found in the Audi A3.

On the technical front, there is a range of more powerful four-cylinder engines, a fifth-generation Haldex four-wheel drive system and — in a move that Audi technical boss Ulrich Hackenberg has suggested makes the TT more fun to drive than ever before — a new aluminium-intensive chassis featuring variable damping control and a variable-ratio electromechanical power steering system.

Central among the stylistic changes brought to the new coupé is the adoption of a more aggressive-looking front end. This features an angular six-corner grille, new trapezoidal-shaped headlights with more prominent LED internal graphics, a more heavily contoured clamshell-style bonnet and added structure ?to the lower section of the ?front bumper. In a move that brings the TT into line with the range-topping R8, the four-ring Audi emblem has been moved from its usual place within the grille to the bonnet’s leading edge.

Excellent work from Audi that remains true to the original groundbreaking TT while providing enough differentiation in the form of an aggressive front-end, clean rear-end and minimalist, high-tech interior.

Truly exceptional work. This raises the bar significantly higher for the upcoming 2015 A4 and Q7 models.

Welcome to another bland design from Audi, hey look we changed the grill and tarted up the headlights. If this is Audi's idea of bold, then the Q7 and A4 are in trouble.

I prefer the outgoing model from a design point of view. This is just down right ugly.

Minimalist interior? What are they striving for with all this "minimalism"? Just seems like the more you minimalize a car interior, the more it begins to resemble the inside of a Coffin.

Perhaps Audi is trying to emphasize that this car is about the driving experience instead of presenting the driver with countless buttons and small LEDs that bring noting to the driving experience except distractions.

That's ok but shouldn't it be up to the driver to decide what distracts him, or not? Countless buttons and LEDs doesn't seem to distract fighter pilots. IDK it just sounds like excuses are made to justify a spartan interior. If its your personal preference than nothing is wrong with that. I just prefer a car interior to have life and not be so cold and spartan.

You can see some elements of the original TT in the side view. The way the fender line intersects with the fender flair. Also the slightly more pronounced rear deck. I'm not in love with the humongeous grill and I'm not sure I like the head lamps. However the sillouette looks a bit more sleek then the current generation. I like the simplicity of the interior. Saying all this the car breaks no new ground in the styling department.

As unbelievable as it is, Lexus seem to be coming out with more interesting designs compared to Audi lately.

The car is awesome and very elegant for me , but is just an evolution of the previous generation from outside because inside is different.

I think Audi peaked with the 2012 A5.

Looks like Audi found a designer who owns a straight edge. Very stale and linear look that tires the eyes rapidly.
Also, the rear light look at they were stolen off the 911. Not good for one German maker copying another German maker. That imitation privilege is reserved for the Koreans.

Wow, this must be the new dynamic and aggressive styling that GermanNut has been blabbering on about for months.

Lol, yeah, I really see, I like how it's so different and can't wait for the 'new' A4 and Q7 to show us more of this adventurous departure from slapping an abnormally large grill on in front and making the headlights square.

The rear looks almost identical to the previous model. This looks like a facelift, nothing more. And is this also based on the Golf? I know the 2 previous generations were.

No, Firewombat, the TT was never going to be the car that ushered in Audi's new, aggressive and differentiated design philosophy. That job was always reserved for the upcoming 2015 A4 and Q7 models.

If you think this new TT is in any way a preview of the changes the new 2015 Audi A4 and Q7 models will receive over their respective predecessors you are going to be mistaken.

@GermanNut how do you know? Do you sit on Audi or VW's board? Do have lunch every day with their designers? Where do you get this amazing insight from? The rumour-based articles? And yet you speak like it's fact?

You're delusional sport, making up excuses as if it's a company you own and can speak for. You really need to speak to someone, about your problems. Your comments have gone from annoying to sad.

@Firewombat why are you extrapolating that because the TT looks not very different than the current model, the same will be true for the A4 and Q7 especially when you know the A4 and Q7 have gone back to the drawing board?

Try to connect dots instead of making comments that make you sound like a moron.

Because you're the crystal ball when it comes to Audi design, and success, and operations etc. You'll say anything that will make it seem like the brand you lust over is the best. And it's not always the truth.

This is just another sausage. And you have no right to comment on authority what Audi plans to do, what they will do, or how successful they are. You're just another kid, living in America, who wants to see his Chinese brand do well.

I'm the crystal ball? More like why are you trying to be the crystal ball that refutes what the company publicly stated it will do with its design philosophy?

This argument won't go anywhere. Both you and I are making claims that Audi will do a or b. Yet none of us know the ultimate end result. I, however, use statements and press releases the company has put out to the public and you just talk crap without any support.

Keep trying to takes jabs at Audi, Firewombat but it's going to be a losing proposition when you fail to support your claims with actual facts.

Why don't I have the right to discuss my passion for Audi? I have every right to do so just like you have the right to hate on Audi all you want. I use factual information the company releases to support my claims whereas you make up stuff out of thin air.

Chinese brand? More like BMW wishes it was as successful as Audi in China. Audi expects to sell over 500,000 units in China alone this year - looks like selling to the Chinese is one hell of a smart business move.

And you believe whatever they say. Again, naive and insecure.

You have every right to give your opinion, it's just that your opinion is so one-sided and biased it has not credibility. Therefore, you are a joke.

I don't hate Audi but I do hate trolls. So, here I am. And so are you. Troll.

And as such, I enjoy playing around with jokes. Yip, Chinese. Knock off. Audi. Brand.

Good for you, Firewombat. Feel free to say Chinese knock-off, rebadged Jetta etc. The educated consumers who these brands want to target as customers know better than to think of one brand simply as a knock-off or rebadged Volkswagen etc. There is a reason these are "premium" cars with high price tags intended mostly for wealthy people who know a thing or two about business.

I'm a joke and have no credibility because I support Audi and because I use company press releases. Yup, that makes a lot of sense. Great, credible attack you have going there.

You're a joke because you don't realise that all of these brands competing give us better products.

And, unless you're a shareholder, you shouldn't be this serious about defending a company who's only goal is to make profit. Not care about trolls.

I do realize competition is better because it creates better products. I thank Mercedes-Benz for the CLA because it caused Audi to create a fantastic car in the A3 sedan.
