CEO Gives Go Ahead To Infiniti’s Eau Rouge Program - Will A 560 HP Luxury Sedan Be All It Takes To Save The Brand?

During the Geneva Motor Show Infiniti brought a new and updated Q50 Eau Rouge Concept version and its CEO says he’s looking forward seeing the car put into production.

Johan de Nysschen, Infiniti’s boss with a Hong Kong office, stresses that inherently the program is still in its infancy and the company needs more time to develop al the details before we see the car into dealership showrooms.

“I would build it right away,” says de Nysschen, but the fact is that the program is “still very much up in the air. As far as I’m concerned, tomorrow afternoon is too late to put the show car into production,” added the executive.

Next year's turbo engine will improve sale. However a new platform is still desired.

Yes and no...the engine is a great start, the problem is the car. The G35/7/Q50/60/70 beside nomenclature is let down by interior and suspension. It will be a fan boy special, lease it for a year, drive the hell out of it and then trade it fast and get the M5 you really wanted.

Nysschen is a very talented man who knows what kind of cars will actually sell. He actually managed to bring back Audi, which was struggling a lot due to gas pedal issues (And did not take any responsibility when Toyota did), to the company that makes unreliable, overpriced VW but still quite attractive to look at. Thanks to him, now Audi is kind of doing better than before, but Audi still fails to compete against Lexus in terms of reliability, and now in terms of design, Audi also is inferior compared to new Lexus models.

But anyway, now that Infiniti is introducing new Eau Rouge with GT-R engine, I actually somewhat feel sorry for the Germans, as not one of them has a car that can compete against GT-R.

The new BMW M3 is just an overrated 3 series with real bad design, Merc C63 AMG is just a German version of American pony car with worse handling and Audi RS4...who cares about this one? Practically nobody.

Only idiots and badgewhores would actually think BMW, Mercedes and Audi make better cars. Well, they don't. Not to mention BMW mass-produces their engines in China and Merc builds their E class at Beijing Benz....rofl So much for "German" engineering.

Too bad it looks like a Sentra is the real issue

The Brand is doing fine!!!

Infiniti has had an interesting time adjusting its nameplates, but the brand is still strong and selling product.

The Eau Rouge will help give the brand an image boost, especially if Chris H. likes the car.

That will give it more than plenty power considering that BMW and likely Audi are going with 3 liter turbos. Looks pretty good too.

Hope they get the pricing right. This can possibly be a game changer for infiniti
